Food, simply

• Half plate vegetables (low-potassium: green beans, cabbage, peppers).

• Palm-size protein at meals — chicken, fish, eggs. Skip processed meat.

• Under 2,000 mg sodium a day. Rinse canned foods.

• Fluids as usual unless Dr. Sahani says otherwise.

Movement, simply

• 20-minute walk, 5 days a week. Slow enough to talk.

• Light stretching or chair exercises on other days.

• Stop and call if you feel chest pain, dizziness, or sudden swelling.
